“My name is Ron, a student of the Youth Outreach’s Hip Hop School. I practice Street dance at the Youth Outreach every Saturday. I live in Hung Hom. Transportation and meals cost $40-50 every time. As I’m still a student, I need to save my pocket money in order to go to practice once a week. However, after paying for transportation, I am often left with nothing for food and can only practice on an empty stomach.
Ever since Foodlink started providing food to Youth Outreach, I’m able to go to practice more often and my dancing has improved a lot. In fact, I’m not the only one. Some of my teammates also come from low income families, living as far as Tin Shui Wai and Tai Po. We all love dancing, but we face the same problem. We sincerely thank Foodlink for the food they have provided to us over the past year and for giving us the motivation to strive towards our goal.”
